  • Starting on Monday 3 April 2023 all travellers to Niue no longer require  Niue Traveller Declaration.  

Before you travel

Booking your flights to Niue

Flights to Niue are only available through New Zealand.

Travellers wanting to visit Niue from outside of New Zealand must meet the border entry requirements for both New Zealand and Niue.

Your passport must be valid. There are also rules about how long your passport must be valid for.

You may need a visa to enter Niue

If you are visiting Niue for less than 30 days, you do not need a visa.

If you are visiting for more than 30 days, you may need to apply for a visa to enter Niue.

Niue requires all people who have tested positive for COVID-19 to self-isolate for 5 days from the date of the test.

If this applies to you, please do not travel.

Additionally, check the local guidelines and check with your airline about any regulations they have in place regarding recent COVID-19 infections.

At the airport

You will need to show your passport and visa (if you need one to Customs on arrival into Niue.

 

After you arrive in Niue

Effective from 1 April 2023, all travellers to Niue are encouraged to undertake self-administered Rapid-Antigen-Tests (RATs) on Day 1 (Tuesday) and Day 3 (Thursday) after arrival into Niue.

 

There are some things you can do to protect yourself from COVID-19 while travelling.

We encourage you to wear a face mask when you are out and about.

If you feel unwell

If you feel unwell stay at your accommodation and call Niue Foou Hospital, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on  +4100 for advice and they will let you know.

If you need urgent medical help

Call 999.

If you test positive after arriving in Niue you may not be able to travel.  Make sure you have a plan if you or someone you are travelling with has COVID-19.

If you test positive you will be required to:

    • self-isolate for 5 days— you should have a plan for this
    • source your own accommodation and pay for this (and meet your other costs). Your travel insurance should cover these costs. 
    • pay for any healthcare costs.
